    WTLG Intelligence Methodology

How the Global Relocation Attractiveness Index is calculated, what it measures, and how to interpret it.

    RAS-1.0

RAS-1.0 estimates city-level relocation attractiveness using WTLG city data and country migration momentum. It is a composite structural index on a 0-100 scale.

    Migration Momentum

WTLG city component fields use a 0-10 editorial scale and are normalized to 0-100. Migration Momentum is already stored as a 0-100 country-level score. If a component is missing, it is not counted as zero; the available components are reweighted only when at least 70% of the nominal weight is present.

RAS-1.0 means a structured WTLG estimate of destination attractiveness for published cities. It does not mean a live cost quote, safety guarantee, immigration recommendation, or universal best-city ranking.

    MMS-1.0

MMS-1.0 estimates country-level international migrant stock momentum from UN DESA International Migrant Stock 2024. It uses recent migrant-stock growth blended with a volume adjustment so that recent momentum and market scale both matter.

Migrant stock is not annual migration flow. Stock changes can reflect return migration, reclassification, refugee movements and source revisions.

    How To Read The Index

The index is a comparative decision-support tool. Higher scores indicate stronger structural relocation attractiveness across measured factors, but personal priorities may differ.
